Femina Potens is currently seeking interns who are committed to bringing gender diversity, feminism, and trans-positive consciousness to the arts community of San Francisco and beyond.
General intern responsibilities include drafting of flyers, flyer distribution, event and workshop coordination, gallery staffing one or more weekend days from Noon-6PM, event set-up, and promotions/marketing. Friday availability is highly desirable.
Recommended qualifications include non-profit experience, ability to work independently, and appreciation for the visual and performing arts.
Additional positions include:
1.Volunteer Coordinator and Workshop coordinator
2. Alternative Librarian and Archivist
Duties include archiving of postcards, fliers, posters, and notes; keeping track of tv, radio, newspaper, and magazine press, and maintaining archives on file, computer, and web site.
3. DIY Store Sales Coordinator and Fundraising Coordinator
4. Media Intern – videotape events and edit into 3 minute previews and 30 minute shows.
Femina Potens is a non-profit art gallery, performance space, alternative library, and diy boutique dedicated since 2000 to promoting women, queers, and transgendered men and women in the arts. We are located in the Mission District, close in proximity to Bart and Muni. Volunteers receive free access to events and are eligible for monthly paid stipends and/or school credit. Do you need any volunteers for the North Bay. If so we can keep in touch with eachother if you want promotion, some work done via computer (flyers) I can make, and other practical communication with the local scene like Aroma's Cafe and Free Mind Media work waverly.
