Queer Acoustic Rock Event at the Femina Potens art gallery! ALL AGES!!

Femina Potens presents:
Elizabeth Elmore
Thea Hillman
Jo Boyer
The Casual Lust
Butch Greenblatt

Elizabeth Elmore has been a force in indie rock since her shimmering pop/rock band Sarge garnered national press in 1998. The band's power pop music was loved by punk fans and rock critics alike. Since the break up of Sarge in 1999, Elizabeth has continued to pursue her voice, forming a new band called The Reputation, touring the country as a solo act, and finishing her law degree at Northwestern.
"There is no nostalgia in Elmore's voice for getting completely ruined. For sleeping with the wrong people. For sleeping with the same wrong people again. For getting drunk every night. For picking up scars that heal on the surface but never stop itching. But there's no older-but-wiser knowledge, either. You can't put your arms around a memory, as I heard Ronnie Spector sing so passionately on the radio the other day. Elmore's new songs seems to say You can't put your arms around a memory, but a memory can put its arms around you." - Greil Marcus, Interview Magazine, May 2002

Thea Hillman's writing has appeared in the San Francisco Bay Guardian, Berkeley Review of Fiction, On Our Backs, and Cometbus, among others. Thea performed a birdcall on The Tonight Show, was on the cover of the Oakland phone book, but she is most proud of her tag-team haiku championship title. Her first book, Depending on the Light , was published by Manic D Press in 2001. Her second book, For Lack of a Better Word , will be published in 2006 by Suspect Thoughts Press.

The Casual Lust is the long awaited musical collaboration between two of the Bay Area's finest looking people. This heartthrob duo holds no conclusions with their eclectic sound. Velvet vocals contrasted with rough undertones string you along with no intentions of letting go. They carry you to emotional revelations through lyrics that are the root of all relations. The Casual Lust is a lustful endeavor that no one can live without.

Butch Greenblatt rocks out with his acoustic guitar creating what
sounds like a mix of folk, pop, and of course, ROCK. He writes his own music, plays his own tunes and you don't want to miss him, especially now that he is back in the scene as a solo artist for the first time in over two years.
